[-real horrorshow hot-]

we were both young when i first saw you
i closed my eyes and the flashback starts -
im standing there, on a balcony in summer air

The beast had grown in the space of a month. What was once a tiny bundle of mottled brown fur is now a bigger, badder version of before, lean and wiry, yet still small. The thin aspect of his bones and muscle was more to do with lack of food than anything else, yet Moth was always satisfied that he got at least as much as Rex, and was always either first or second in line, only preceeded by Rex, and followed instantly by Albtraum in the line up for food, pushing the girls away til last and giving Merridew the bones. Yes, Moth was easily one of the better fed of his siblings - not that counted in mass.
The three month old male sat far from the edge of the drop off, both intrigued and [despite all he says] afraid by it. The curling mists provided a sense of calm, so he was at one with the world, instead of against it. It was a music to him, a music so full of forbidden emotion, of carnage and sweet sweet notes, a music like the works of Ludwig Van, a composer he had never heard of. The mists and the cliffs heightened his awareness, created a space for him to react more timely, as if moving in rhythm to the coils of some translucent instrument.
His mother, upon taking some of her precious time to see them, had taken them here once, briefly explaining that if we go over the edge, we fall and die. She also said that if you looked closely, you could see the dead running through the smoke. She had said that Enigma's spirit rested here. Enigma, his father.
Pfft. His lengthened snout gave a customary sneer. Father? Sure, father had an excuse but dear old em was not dead. What was her excuse eh? In not applying attention to her sons and daughters? Now, Moth liked attention, but not in the snivelly, pathetic way Dewie did. Moth liked to feel power, feel it resonate from his claws, his eyes. That passion glimmered in his burnt orange eyes when he got the chance, when he came into his own.
A growl escaped his lips as he crunched into the dead bit of wood he was chewing on, giving up on peeling away the bark for an instant of anger. Spitting out the crumbs, the mottled pup strode with venom to the edge of the cliff, looking over his balcony. He felt his muscles twitch with the need to do something. In frustration, Moth looked down. Out of the sliding vapours, a... a what? A landing spot? An edge? A ledge? Interesting for sure. An inspection started on the Drop Off itself, as Moth looked at the ground for signs of climbing or scrambling wolves.

;devil in disguise;
-- somewhere someone’s gun, someone's gun is laughing
it’s not what I gave to you
it’s now what I sold
we are born like this

It was the incredible monotony of everything that was driving her bat crazy. A whole month gone, and nothing had changed. That sad excuse for a motherly figure ignored them, too busy wallowing in that self pitied grief. Rex still held himself as the proclaimed king-- Mags still tagged him as her number one enemy. In her spare time, (of which she owned a lot of), she would ponder a satisfying way to push her brother off his 'rock'. Not that she wanted to take over, but she wanted Rex to be damn sure that he wasn't going to rule her. One of her other siblings, Alb, spent most of him time hogging Merridew. Which upset her more than it should; but it was no fun not having any toys to chew on. And her only sister, Halia-- she never spent much time with her. She was too much of someone who didn't like any of them bossing around Merri. Which sucked the fun out of things more than Alb did.

And then there was Moth.

That-- in high sarcasm --strapping, young wolf was insistently a flea behind her ear. It was a place that she could barely scratch; and even if she did flick that insect off, he'd hop right back on, more annoying than ever. He threw his weight around a lot, bossing, shoving around, and the constant pestering. Yet it was more for kicks than for dominance. Moth was not one who seemed like he wanted to completely hold custody over things-- only just to have enough power to piss off those who wanted everything. Like the bastard that he was, he would screw you over and mess you up at any chance he could get.

Taking a deep breath, Mags large, (though skinny), stomach heaved. Boredom seeped in more with every step, and she was finding herself heading towards the place she visited very little-- to see if that changed anything about this day. It was the Drop Off; the place where her father died. Not that she really cared about that. She didn't care for her mother at all-- an alive relative. There was not much that would make her love a dead one. She simply liked staring over that daring edge. The edge that had killed so many of the Edyrd. She liked to think that, perhaps, this is where she could take care of Rex. If that brother of hers wanted to be a king so much, then why shouldn't he die like the rest of them?

Yet, as she drew closer to this place, she could scent something underneath all of the dusty air.

Moth

"Oh, joy! Rapture! Hallelujah!" She said in that way of hers-- to insult. Mags still continued to approach him; something seemed a bit different about him. But not by much. She was probably just imagining things-- he was probably still that cocky self under this visage. Without fear, she sat down next to him. What was left of her mangy, black fur, blew in the wind. She looked at Moth, his gaze occupied down the Drop Off. For no reason at all, she smirked at him. ". . . And what does the fortune-teller see in the fog down the cliff? Ghosts? Monsters? Death?"

i see the lights; see the party, the ball gowns.
i see you make your way through the crowd-
you say hello, little did i know...

There it was, definate signs of something jumping from the edge, and definate signs of climbing back up... That meant - Moth looked over the edge again - there was something down there, something that the fog did not want him to show. The sharp young mind took photographs of the ruined lichen, scratched stone and disturbed rocks.
A sigh escaped his mouth, sending further tendrils of steam into the air. Through his rhythmatic breathing dancing to the tune of the Drop Off, Moth caught a new harmony. A sweet and deliciously exciting prospect of trouble making, in the making. He sneered, then composed himself to what he was doing previously.
The orangey brown pup rolled his eyes vigorously at her comments, and had to grin as she came waltzing over. Moth ignored her blankly as she sat next to him. Within mere seconds, he knew his plan, well, it was a plan that could go all horribly wrong, like any plan really, but this could top all of them thrice over. . . . And what does the fortune-teller see in the fog down the cliff? Ghosts? Monsters? Death? Moths head turned very slowly, like that of a clockwork doll, clickety clacking on its joints. Bloody orange eyes flashed in a childish, evil sneer. He smiled once, then parted his lips and said, very innocently. Me.
And with that, he jumped, very spring lamb like off the cliff edge. For a second, it was just like flying, he was weightless, rippling through the air with ease. That was until he started falling. As soon as he cleared the edge of the Drop Off, his limbs began to flail, and something that partnered with panic was telling him this was a stupid idea in the first place, and that he was going to die. Not long after that thought, he crumpled into solid rock, mainly chalk based on a small, forgiving ledge.
Slowly, he untangelled himself, looking back up through the mists, where he could just see the shadow of his sister. The following smirk made up for any stupid notions he had before - Mags would not know what hit her! He gave a silent laugh, concious to the echos of the Drop Off, the procedded to look around. A small white mound hung to the back of the overhang, with a shiny black stone upon it. Moths head cocked to one side as he pondered this anomaly, then looked back up through the dense mist with a slight shudder, awaiting sound from ahead.

;devil in disguise;
-- the time has come to change this
to stretch the thought a mile
we've lost that kind of spirit
we want it back today

Out of all of the things he could have done, she should have suspected this idiotic move first.

His tactic was interesting-- also something she should have suspected. Those slow, calculated, cog-like movements made him look like one crazy son-of-a-bitch. And had she not been his sibling, and a fellow Edyrd, she was certain that she would have completely ran away screaming. Yet, being as she was, she found this spectacle more interesting than terrifying.

And then it went from a questionable act to a downright amusing one. For just right before his form vanished into that abyss, she could clearly see his terror. His body went from calm and collected, to that of a confused frenzy. Mags, even though young, could smell his panic. And now, as that poor bloke melted away into the blackness, her lips smeared back into a slick smile. Then her teeth began to part from each other, as a wretching laugh filled the empty space around her. It sounded so much like her mother-- a feature about herself that Mags tried to drown in the reason as to why she was laughing, or to try and not laugh at all. But this was so damn entertaining that she could not resist bathing in that cold voice of her mother's joy.

"Moth, there are so many ways to die-- and you picked quite a glorious one," she was now peeking over the edge of the cliff, her nose poking down into the Drop Off. Her brother's stench still lingered in that air; the last sniff she'd ever get of him. And that was something to be thankful for. She shook her head back and forth, letting out a 'TuttTuttTutt,' noise from her mouth. ". . . You. You, you, you, you, . . ."

that you were romeo, you were throwing pebbles-
and my daddy said "stay away from juliet"-

The smells were easier to tell apart now, now that he'd stood and calmed his body calmed a little. The vapours clung to his nostrils along with a thick chalky smell and an essence of rottenness. Sniffing the air with a forced silence, he turned back to the mound behind him, shuddering a little even for this crazed pup's mental metabolism. His orange eyed gaze ruptured the vapour above him, then after a glance back at the mound, he resoloutely ignored it and began to scale the cliff face.
He grinned at her nonchalence, and stopped, halfway up to listen. Hah! she thought he was really dead! That was good, sooo good. This would screw her up for the century, or at least spook her enough to lose that visage she wears. Rex was right, she was sure like her mother. Moth's confidence fluttered around his pelt now, giving him more malevelance [if thats possible]. The pup shifted his lithe bodice around a bit more so he could secure himself on the rock face before allowing another broad grin to cover his face.
Then there was her laugh. The laugh that echoed their Em's so similarly she might have ripped it from her throat. It smelt of demented honey. Screwing his nose up a little at the notion, he started up the cliff again, orange and brown fur being swallowed by the mists. Then there she was, thinking she was Queen of Everything. Moth's burnt eyes combusted in a flame of pure joy. The little bit would not know what hit her, being all lordy lordy on the mountaintop.
Upon finding better footing he waited, waited til she was a little closer perhaps to the edge. Brows narrowing, he tensed his stringy muscles and leapt onto her front, clamping his jaws into her scruff, and wrapping his forelegs around her neck in a locking embrace. As they fell, no panic this time with dear old Mothy, the small male tightened his grip with his paws but let his teeth go, rolling round in the air so that she would hit the ledge first.
Aww. My appypolly loggys droogie. But tis not I who snuffed it. He whispered in her ear as he saw the ground behind her slowly falling into place, from which in her position, she could not. They would just be falling and falling and falling - til they died.

;devil in disguise;
-- the time is right to change this
to make the life we know
they took what we were given
we’ll get it back again

One minute she was laughing, and then the next thing Mags knew, was that she was choking.

She could barely make sense of it all in the short time that it had happened. Her brother's form erupted forth from below, grasping her around the neck and tugging her down. His eyes were lit with a dangerous, psycho glow. Mags joy had been cut short, as she struggled to dig her heels into the ground and stop herself from descending down with him. How had he gotten back up? Shouldn't he be a squashed, little bug? And despite her struggle, Mags could not recover her balance, and tripped over the edge with him. Now she felt how he did the first time he had jumped off. Her fur was spiked with sheer hate and fear-- this was certain death! What idea did Moth have?

Now he had her flipped on her back, so that she could not see the ground, and not much else. The most that she could make out through the swirling fog was her brothers totally maniacal smile that was directly in her face.

Aww. My appypolly loggys droogie. But tis not I who snuffed it.

"Moth, what are you doi--?" she screamed, but her words were severed as rock meet her in the back. She gritted her teeth against the pain tingling along her spine. And the hiss of pain she seethed soon switched into a PO'd growl. ". . . You, . . ."

Mags narrowed her eyes, but again they brightened, her own madness sparkling through to the top of her gaze. Once more she issued her mother's laugh, nearly howling out into hysterics. Her body quaked with that sound, that sadistic happiness swirling around them, whipping around with the fog. That laugh showed every single one of her sharp teeth, most disturbing to those who were easily afraid-- Merri was a perfect example. She practiced this look of hers just to spite him. Except she knew it wouldn't scare Moth-- she just felt the need to laugh like this.

"You cad!" she said, his dishonorable act amusing the hell out of her. It was an insult to prove that she had figured out this plan-- that he had hoped that they would strike this ledge on the way down. And now she awakened that DNA that allowed her to play any role she wished. This was of the devilish vixen. ". . . I think I might grow to admire these ideas of yours, brother."

and i was crying on the staircase-
begging you, "please don't go..."
and i said...

He merely grinned into her face as she screamed, loosening his grip so that his legs would not be trapped beneath her when she hit the ground, which was coming up right.... now. Not quite as ready for the impact as he thought, his thin legs crumpled a little against the rock, causing him by the art of gravity to collapse slightly onto Mags. Quickly, he repositioned himself so he was merely above her with his paws either side of her head.
Mottled ears rammed forwards with an inquisitive tone, cocking his head to one side as she tried to insult him. Moths thoughts returned to the momentary lapse of character as he grabbed her from the top, her disbelief, her fear. That singular moment he would treasure forever. The panic in her eyes as he brought her down, that rainbow of feelings that surely could be on the same level as passion, that sensation he had felt in the pit of his stomach.
She laughed again, this time in utter hysterics. He rolled his blazing eyes and gave her his most cocky of looks, waiting for her to get a grip on her deranged self, head spinning with perhaps more plans for fear and dread and mischief. Who knows what he will become in later years, but it sure is guessable.
You cad. Neatly, he raised a brow. So, this was the angle she was going for? Fine, fine, fine. He could play along with that. Giving his complete reindition of puppy dog eyes, he pouted at her, going all hurt and sorry looking, not that she would be fooled. His speech changed too, for he knew how to speak around the elder class, and it was his most politest speech, the one he used for getting out of trouble, but he knew in this case he didnt need to. However, most words were still made up. My sorriness, ma'am, for the grievences I caused in the past few minutos. Please, if you would forgive my horrendous behaviour.
Then he winked, keeping his place above her like an overpowering lord to his lady. Her tone turned devilish, sweeter, too sweet, and as she did so he purred, wanting to give in the temptation to pummel her to near death now, rather than wait. No, no, wait. Let her gain some trust, then the harder little lady here will fall, and the more fun he shall have. A grin pulled up on either end of his jaw. I dont quite pony that Miss. You govereeting you interevessovat my fashion? More fool you.

"My sorriness, ma'am, for the grievences I caused in the past few minutos. Please, if you would forgive my horrendous behaviour. I dont quite pony that Miss. You govereeting you interevessovat my fashion?"

Throughout his little speaking part, Mags pretended to pay attention. She picked up his tone-- that little fancy talk that he sometimes pulled. And even if she wanted to listen through his little accent, she probably wouldn't understand his words anyway. Speaking in gibberish that only he understood was one of his ways-- so, in a way, paying attention was just a waste of her time.

After he finished, a silence hung over them for a bit. She had purposely kept her eyes tagged on his, watching them as they seemed to spark, setting fire to what was remaining of his sanity. That made her giggle slightly.

"Cut the act," she said, following up her short laugh with a yawn. Her jaw parted open with that horrible breath of hers. It was just another one of those lovely features she had. But it wasn't like they had the cleanest water or food. Everyone had a tinge of what she called, 'garbage', on their breath. She made hers worse in order to chase anything off. Making fun of her about it didn't bother her much, since it was purposeful.

She took one of her paws and, in a quick motion, pressed it up on his chest. It wasn't even strong enough to make him budge-- another purposeful act. ". . . Its not like I fancy you. So don't let things get to your head, good sir."

And Mags laughed again. But this time, it was a laugh that multiplied in horror from her previous one. It made her entire body pulse in amusement. It even assaulted her own ears-- you sound way too much like mum -- but mentioning that to herself just made her continue to belt out these hysterics. It was a good five minutes before she finally shut her trap. Well, not for long.

Suddenly, her jaw twisted to the side, grappling her brother around his leg. She bit down, feeling a small amount of blood trickle onto her tongue. Its taste caused her to smile-- it was probably a terrible mistake to bite him, all the way up here. But it didn't matter, because if he did push her over, she was going to go with a smile. Besides, . . .

Mags relinquished her grasp. ". . . What would father think?"

romeo take me somewhere, we can be alone.
i'll be waiting; all there's left to do is run.

Pardon me miss, but tis not I that has to 'cut the act'. Came the sniding remark of her brother, who stood possessively over her with uncaring ease. Moth's brows arched as to reinforce his statement, licking his lips at the same time as though eyeing up a lying meal. Thou spendeth so much of thy precious time trying not to be so akin to thy Em. Thou be gloopy enough to miss thou art her in rebirth. The words slid out of his mouth like burning oil, setting and fixing themselves around that area in time, and wound around Mags' neck. It was now up to her on how she should take it, but any at all would amuse Moth to the full.

She yawned, and however much Moth tried to fight it, he held his head higher than before, giving a regal, arched appearance to his neckline. His nose wrinkled in distaste at the stench of the vonny wretch. If it was one thing he hated, it would be the bad smells that lingered on other wolves. A growl as deep as he could get it pulsated in his chest, trying his hardest not to rip her lower jaw out from under her breath.

. . . Its not like I fancy you. So don't let things get to your head, good sir. He had to laugh at this, as she placed her paw on his chest. Moth knew he was easily the best looking out of the Edryd spawn, and that, even in these early days he had a certain charm about him that allowed him to get what he wanted - which was usually a good time [leave that to your imaginations]. However, in the here and now, he was repulsed, yet amused by his sister's proclamation, which further inspired yet more ideas of pain inducing formulae, ready to be kept for later use. The others were not as fun as this, however much tormenting Halia and Merridew was hilarious, and taunting the others amusing, something told him he could make Magdelene hurt from the inside; and that, dearies, is all that matters. Oh my poor aching heart.

Mags laughed again, causing an eyeroll to be commenced by the mottled brown wolf above her. He waited for her to finish before commenting on the gigglefit she had just issued. Do you notice, oh my sister, sammy lots of dear Em in thou? It isnt flattering you see.

Then she obviously thought it a good idea to bite him, which was, evidently, a bad idea. As his face contorted into a mad, angry snarl, and eyes burning a deeper orange, he let her draw blood, allowed her to take her time and pull away, before he did anything back. Well, well, well droogie, why dont you ask him? He replied, his muzzle blistering with the cold kill he wanted to make.

With a precise movement, he grappled her neck between his jaws, and pressed down. Without looking at her face, he dragged her smaller, feminine body over to the mound, chucking her form by the black, oval rock. Letting her go with his teeth, Moth replaced the avenging canines with a paw pushed against the base of her skull, smooshing her face into the chalky mound. Shouldnt have done that droogie. Shouldnt have done that to your dear brother, making his krovvy spill. Now, it isnt very nice, is it? Righty right? Right, right right?

As he went on his little rant, Mags raised a brow. Once again, she was only half-listening to his proclamation, but she about got the gist of it. Too much like mum? Peh. She wanted to spit into his face. But before she got the chance to, he suddenly took her by the neck and tossed her a bit away. She skid across the dirt a moment, then opened her eyes. She was nearly shocked-- nearly. After biting him, it was something she expected.

She was about to get up when he continued his sadistic punishment by placing his paw on the back of her head. Moth's strength pressed down on her, scraping her into the dirt. It was like a kid in the sandbox testing out his brand new shovel. And he continued this, rapidly, driving her skull farther into the mound. Her mouth opened, her lips quivering in pain. Above him he kept telling her of her folly, and how much she was going to pay for it.

Mags wanted to shove him off and knock him straight over the ledge, for how much pain it caused. She wasn't showing the hurt to the extent that it actually did. If she was, the volume of her screams would be bursting their eardrums.

But suddenly, the corse dirt became something smooth. She gasped in surprise. She had felt something like this before-- when mum had actually brought them a rabbit to eat. Moth had grabbed one of its bones and kept ramming her in the head with it. Was this bone underneath them?

"Moth, . . ." she growled, exerting everything she had to shove him off of her. Once she was free, Mags looked down at what they had just dug up-- sure enough, there was the skeleton of a wolf. She blinked.

"I wonder who these belonged to, . . ." she said to herself, digging up one of the legs all of the way. She took it in her mouth and chewed on it forcefully. There was nothing really left on it-- no marrow or skin. Mags recalled the wolf that mother said was never to be spoken of-- that king of dirt who had fallen off the cliff. Maybe he landed on this thing. But then, who would have buried that foul carcass? She tossed the bone aside and it landed directly on the edge of the cliff.

"Moth, fancy kicking around the skull? Or scaring Merri with it?" she suddenly spoke as if they were on the same team, for a reason even she couldn't explain. Maybe it was just to distract him from chewing her out.

you'll be the prince and i'll be the princess,
it's a love story, baby, just say yes.

The passion that flared in his avenging anger soon melted into thick spasms of pleasure, coating his eyes with an inhumane glow that seemed to shine of newly heated wax. His grin pulled wider and wider with the grip of a drawstring across his young and carefree jawline, snarling covert laughs under his breath at the pathetic female beneath the weight of his body. A strange satisfaction lit his eyes as her face smooshed into the chalk, bringing a new colour to her cocoa embossed features.

The mound began to crumble beneath them as Moth's previous fury intensified to that feeling of mass Arcadia that threatened to swell him up whole. This was not a matter of pride, as it was for Rex, this was not even a matter, he did as he felt, spontaniety was the key. Right now, his impulse anger had granted him this certain ecstacy that surely could not be matched. His sneering cascade deepened as she stuggled less and less.

Then she called out to him. Bemused, the mottled pup raised a brow again, looking at her, but not removing his weight. He tried to interpret the tone of the growl, but her face was too much crushed into the ground. Then she redoubled her strength and raised up. Catching the omnipresent Moth offguard, his pleasently charming features contorted angrily and for a moment they were both balanced pushing against each other. Finally, the male relented and sulkily moved away, but unlike Mags, it was only his pride was hurt, what was left of it - the female had that and a crushed muzzle to contend with. His smile returned as he thought of her being in more pain that he, though his leg still smarted a little.

Moth followed the female's gaze to the protruding white object and cocked his head to one side. Looking on in vague amusement as his sister gnawed on a peace of the skeleton, rather than answering her, the mottled pup considered the possibilties. Upon inspection, he came to the conclusion that this was a male - for the structure was quite large, and that the neck was snapped. Moth surveyed the setting a little more before looking at Mags. Viddy that crack in the bratchny's shiyah? Some fine drat he was in.

She started to suggest ways for them to use it, and the slightly bemused look came back into his features as Mags spoke, noting the changes deftly and reclining back on his haunches. Moth made a show of pondering her suggestions, grinning fervantly, when as he looked back at the skeleton, he was caught by a new idea all together. I messel one more horrorshow idea, droogie. He began, looking slowly up from the corpse to his sister. Thee and thine taketh some of this here bone, and itty it off to dear old Em. Sneety a' the strack on her sladky cluve as she viddies the thing.

Moth smiled. Mele would either be indifferent, and they could go scare Dewie or something. But the reaction from their mother he was hoping for was quite, quite different.
