history, D'leh never really got to meet his mother. He was born somewhere to a woman named Daisy in 1899. He doesn't remember her, he only has simple memorized facts. His father was an unknown white man. His mother was an Aboriginal woman. He had been born on June 11, 1899 in a small town in New South Wales. Mr. and Mrs. Rittier adopted him in 1901. Well.. Not really adopted him. Adopting a child means maybe you'll love them and care for them. Not in D'leh's case. The Rittier family only adopted two year old D'leh as a playmate for their bratty three year old, Carver. Carver was the complete definition of hyperactive annoyance. His mouth went nonstop, and D'leh had to listen to all of it. For 9 years. At the start of his 9th year with the Rittier family, the cattle ranch was at it's peak, and sold to another family. Mr. Rittier moved his family to New Zealand. The whole family adored the coolness of the New Zealand country. D'leh was miserable. Carver was as bratty as every, the Rittier parents seemed to have forgotten his true name, only calling him "The Playmate" or "Creamy". D'leh missed Australia, the heat, the cattle. He missed every day, waking up to a blaring sun, to wind that danced over rust colored sand. He missed everything. Especially the rainy season. Here, rain was cold, and bit into your skin like a thousand tiny needles. In Australia, raindrops were plump, and warm, and filled you with happiness. D'leh would often spend nights outside, feeling nothing but the refreshing rain flood his senses. He was constantly barefoot. Here, he wore shoes. He hated them. They were confining, and normally gave him blisters. The other thing that made it miserable? They got rid of Scout. Scout was their dog, a creature that D'leh loved more then any other. She was loyal, kept the cows and horses where they were supposed to go. But with nothing to do in their new home in a tiny town, she grew restless. So, they sold her. He was heartbroken. He often heard the wolves in the hills. He wondered what they felt like. He would lay there, listening, imagining running his fingers through the pelt of a wolf. When spring came, the biting raindrops no longer fell from a gray and lifeless sky. Now emerald grasses waved along the earth, and the smell of dirt constantly filled the air. That was when D'leh left. He took everything he needed, shoved it in a rucksack, and left. He even took shoes. Heck, you never knew when you'd find a use for them. He might even be able to sell them. He doesn't know if the Rittier's are looking for him, and he doesn't really care. He's in warrigal territory now.
