VENOM'S GATE.

INTRODUCTION.

<sub>no one knows why they came here or when, but when the monsters arrived they brought their war with them. it was a blood feud deeper than time and stronger than the oceans and it ran dark; peace between lycans and vampires was impossible.

under the blind eye of unknowing humans, they dragged their conflict to the underbelly of venom's gate and WAR erupted after centuries of presence and prejudice.

in their fury, the well-matched forces destroyed everything: each other, their hierarchies, and the sunless port city that had harbored them for a long eternity. when the dust settled there was no victor but devastation and what remained was a stalemate in ground zero.

the lycan council of warlords were gone.
the vampire king and queen were dead, their citadel toppled.
the humans were all but extinct, destroyed in a surreal war.
the city was crippled and unable to stand.

it has been FORTY YEARS since the unofficial cease-fire, forty years since rhyme and reason were found slain in their beds. where venom's gate once stood proudly perches a frail little vulture made of crumbled buildings and the shambles of destitution.

there's no real war, but there is not peace: the two sides still cast cautious glances and tension and animosity between immortals is taut as ever. gangs of immortals, miniature militias each with their own purpose and design, are vying for power over portions of the city and there are nightly deaths in the street as these organized criminals cross swords over territory and influence; he who causes the most fear, rules.

fortunately for the city, for every destructive force there seems to be a forward one. apart from the conflict there is an air of reconstruction and business in several parts of the city where a whole new venom's gate seems to be growing from the grave of the past--

if it doesn't destroy itself first.</sub>

SITE HISTORY.

<sub>the first venom's gate site opened in october 2005. it was a successful endeavor for the founding motley crew of eighth graders and in its years of existence became well known within the occult/horror fantasy genre. it fell rather inactive due to the prolonged absence of the head admin, and upon their return has been recreated before you in even greater glory.

venom's gate 2 takes place forty years after were venom's gate 1 left off, and it would suffice to say that we're back with a vengeance.</sub>
