personality:quiet. When in or around town, the first thing people tend to notice is his lack of a voice. Although he can speak, he deliberately ignores the majority of people, giving one word answers if absolutely nessacary. His silence seems to be out of hatred, and very few no the reason for his turn around from his once overly-friendly spirit.
intimidating. No one dares even joke with him, for his cold gaze alone chills most people. There is not even a twinkle in his eye, only malcontempt for anyone who even thinks that they could approach them. Because of his often stern expressions, few dare approach him.
generous. Even though he is oddly silent and undoubtedly intimidating, he remains unremarkablely generous. Will is by no means cruel, and helps those who need another hand; sometimes he'll even give his daily wages to a poor child in the street.
hot tempered. It takes little to nothing to set him off; a look, a word, or even crossing his path. Most avoid him for that reason because twice already he's seriously hurt men who think they can get away with sly remarks. His strength is like that of any average man, but the intensity with he attacks is frightening.
solitary. He has a lodge on the second range of Eiran mountains, still in construction. He spends nearly all of his time working on it. He is a hermit who does his best to keep to himself, for he hates having to interact with other people.
history:best memory, He was going into town to help his father sell their produce, and that was the first day he saw his wife-to-be. A young man of twenty, he was instantly smitten with the young maiden, despite the fact she wasn't Irish. Although his parents would rather him another woman, he walked right up to her a week later and asked if she'd have him. The day she said yes is the happiest moment to this date in his life.
worst memory, Conversely, it was June, 1910 that he recieved the post from an incoming caravan. He expected it to be news of his wife (for she was due to have their child that month), but it was two letters in the enevelope: one from Malena, his wife, and the other a letter from her father saying she'd died of the Spanish Flu; she caught it while visit her family in Spain. That day he learned both his wife and unborn son were dead.
overall history:childhood. William grew up as every simple child from a small Irish town: with little riches and with dozens of brothers and sisters. Although he wasn't from a family of means, he had an exceptionally happy childhood. He learned all the secrets of farming and building from his father and how to become a good buisness man, and practiced his horsemanship in his spare time.
He never had a formal education as a kid, but he learned basics in math and reading from his mother and father. He was also more bold, often getting himself into tussels or tight situations; he basically wreaked havoc wherever he went--much to his parents dismay.
All the children looked up to him, even the older boys around the town, because fear never seemed to register in his mind. He was faster, stronger, smarter, and more daring than any of the other boys. He would do stupid stunts and antics, but he always won the respect of those around him. Even though he had their respect, he refused to lead any of them, but instead was more interested in pushing them, helping them become more than they were.
manhood. As a young man, William never really lost his childish qualities, but instead matured and put them to practical use. His fortunes did not increase because of it, but the admiration and respect his community offered did. He was well known around the town, and of course when visiting parties came in he was the first to greet them. He soon met his wife in that manner--who was from Spain but looking to explore the world--and quickly found himself on her same quest.
He was 20 when he left the small town of Keel, and he journeyed to America as a land of oppertunities. William was sure he was destined for greatness and hopped to make a reputation for himself, but more so for his wife so that she could have whatever her heart desired.
His hardworking attitude was quickly rewarded, but as a more Irish immigrants mooved over, there was increasing hostility towards Irish people. So Will decided to leave New York and soon after making a small fortune he moved his wife and himself out west where they started their own general store; the success gain him even more wealth. He had a comfortable life-style in a town that respected him no matter what his origins, and things seemed to be alright.
the war. America soon found itself in another war, and Will felt it his patriotic duty to help protect the country that afforded him so many oppertunities. He fought and served the Army on the front lines for two years. When he came back, it was obvious to everyone that the war had changed him completely as a man. He'd grown harder, more cold, and rarely did he ever smile.
It was his wife that managed to defrost his icy persona, and though he was often more serious, he was soon back to a more carefree self. But in his time away his buisness had suffered a bit because of it, which made him constantly on edge. As well as himself, his wife was growing tired of the small town and hoped to move once more.
So with his wife's request in mind, and secretly his own desire to leave his corrupted country (oh the things he saw overseas), he quickly found out about people cultivating a Newer World. With his wife's blessing, he headed farther west into California and onto a ship to take him to New Zealand.
the new world. Everything about it reminded him of his home back in Ireland, and instantanious was his love for the country. It was diverse, and uncultivated, and best of all there was little government and absolutely no wars. Here they could be safe, away from the rest of the world, and live out their lives in peace.
He sent word back to his wife, and could hardly believe after only 5 years of leaving his home in Ireland, he found a paradise like this to live in. Thus he soon found himself traveling to Eiru, and happy that they community here was quiet and rural; nothing like the big cities he abhored.
the turn. When he recieved the post, one last note of love from his wife and a note proclaiming her death by her father hurt him more than any physical injured he'd ever sustained. He could feel the hatred and bitterness seep into him, infecting his veins weith their poisons.
His hatred grew, and out of desperation to be away from the word, he quickly left the town and moved into the mountains. He left behind all his friends and aquaintences on a whim, burning the letter and determined to erase the hurt. Unfortunately, his pain nor bitterness ever left him, and now he lives in a home buried in the mountainside where no one could find him.
