personality: Braith. Diversely coloured. And also a little diverse in the mind. He tends to think that the world is black and white, good and bad, and sees each in both. He looks like a rather scary and imposing, fluffy, gentle giant. Yes. That is one side of the story. Braith is a kind hearted soul, always looking straight at the good and bad traits about others [trouble is, he can be extremely blunt]. He seems to not care what people think of him, and is very direct about his feelings – though tending to bottle up inside what is actually causing him the most harm. Bullied as a child for being small and rather obese, he now uses it as a joke, but believes that no one can ever love him because of his appearance. Through a barricade of obnoxious and arrogant vibes, he is a sweet and caring wolf, preferring the company of females to brutes. As a result, he has ended up a little… well… camp, and slightly bitchy. As his name suggests, he can be difficult to work out. Generally, Braith is an optimist, the glass being half full as opposed to half empty. Overall. Braith is a very confusing wolf, changing to fit the people around him. He prefers a few close friends, usually femmes, and never reveals his secrets, bottling up emotion. He can be very sarcastic, most like a femme, and is typically metrosexual. This doesn’t bother him much, unless others decide they want make fun of it, even then he plays along, then complains non stop to the wolf he trusts most afterwards.
He can also be terribly aggressive. If something, or one, really hurts him, or abuses the wolves he cares about, he will attack them, with words, or physically. When stressed or worried, he tends to take it out on trees. If you see a thick pine trunk painted with holes, scratches and bite marks, it will probably be Braith taking his anger out on it.
history: As a pup, Braith was bullied continuously for his size, weight, and his feminine streak. Sometimes, the bullying was so bad that he would turn on the other pups, leaving them seriously injured some of the time. This left him feeling like he was worth nothing. And, at the age of one, he decided he was going to leave.
‘Don’t go…’
She said it so softly as Braith began to walk away from the pack. Braith turned and looked at Deathstar. She was a wolf also outcast slightly, fur a dark black, painted with blonde. Perhaps one day, you will hear her story.
‘Why not?’
‘You’ll regret it.’
‘How do you know?’
‘I’ve been there, remember?’
Braith looked at the floor. He didn’t want to look at her face, not at all. He knew, he just knew, that it was streaked with tears, and if he looked back at her, then he would not leave. She nudged him, he shook her away uncomfortably.
‘Besides, who would sing for me if you’re gone?’
She said. She was smiling, making it seem alright, when it really wasn’t. Deathstar and Braith were like opposites that were the same. Braith was the optimist, and Deathstar the pessimist. She must have been really upset to change her ways. He did not understand she did it for him. He looked down guiltily, and shrugged, nothing mattered, he was giving up, he was a stubborn git, and that’s that.
‘I would miss your voice.’
He could feel her eyes burning through his shoulder. He did not want to listen. He was right, that’s that. Stubbornness and pride stood standing in his way, he would go. Suddenly, ‘Star’s gaze tightened, and he flinched.
‘You would be giving them satisfaction if you left now. They will think they’ve won. What use will your pride be then? It wont solve anything.’
‘Yes it will…’
‘What? What will it solve, Braith? Nothing, that’s what.’
‘I wont have to listen to them.’
‘You don’t have to listen to them here either, I don’t.’
‘Oh, and its all about you…’
Awkward silence.
‘What?’
Braith turned slowly to face her, anger boiling up behind his teeth. He was on the verge of tears, which was actually quite rare. Even Deathstar was now scared, but he had insulted her.
‘You are so self centered, all you think about is yourself, always talking bout you.’
‘I do not!’
‘Oh, get over yourself.’
‘Get ov-? Wait, you come back here! Braith? Braith! BRAITH!’
--
A year later, Braith joined a new pack, being finally accepted somewhere changed his life. No one judged him by how he looked or acted. It was absolutely fantastic. Inside, he missed Deathstar. Missed her to depression. Not that his outside showed that. He was well known for his voice, being good and strong, not to mention breath takingly beautiful, though he himself thought it nothing to shout about. He thought of Deathstar when he sang, as she was the one who encouraged him, and just sat and listened. She was a great listener… but he had never thought to thank her, or tell her. She was the only one who stuck by him. And that was how he repaid her… He felt so guilty at what he said, he never confided in anyone, less they got hurt.
When this feeling began to grow almost unbearable, Braith asked to leave the pack. With much confusion, he was granted so, but he was always welcome back if he wanted. He was going to find Deathstar… but he couldn’t, not yet. In the meantime, he hoped to find a pack closer to home, until he worked up the nerve to see her again. So that’s when he stumbled upon Eira, just a mountain or so away. Who knows, Deathstar might find him before he finds her…
